My beloved F-14 was replaced by the lawn dart, F-18, which will be replaced by this, the F-35C Lightening II (C is Carrier variant because landing or controlled crash on a carrier would tear up the F-22, they are slated for 2015 for the first batch)
Doesn't this stuff make you want to jump up and do your part and VOTE for TEW?

Yes I really did control fighters in Desert Storm and I think about jets way too much.

F-35 was a bust how about the AC130 Spectre. Who'd think you could mount artillery on an airplane and it not blow itself up.

If we don't get 100% participation I'm going to keep this up, or until Mith tells me to stop or Guildlaunch closes the contest (2 more weeks'ish)
Today is another piece of trivia. What did Holler’s Uncle fly in Vietnam … F4’s and the below RA-5 Vigilante The RA-5 is an unarmed reconnaissance jet. If you look between the exhaust jets you can see where it stored its bombs (Its the capped over dome). It wasn’t practical so they scrapped it from being a bomber/nuke dropper to recon.
Some pictures of the RA-5 can be confused with an F-111 Aardvark. The Aardvark has variable sweep wings and closer engines.
Despite being shot down twice, Uncle Raymond made it home and passed away in November 2005

Still not enough votes.
How about the US Air Force flight demonstration squadron, the Thunderbirds. The US Navy equivalent are the Blue Angels. Because there is so much show in what they do they don't where G-Suits to push the blood from their legs to their head so they don't black out. They have to do special breathing exercises to go up to I think 7 Gs (10-12Gs is when normal pilots black/red out with a G-suit).

Since I mentioned the F-111 Aardvark, here it is. The Navy couldn't use it but this jet was in service for almost 50 years. It was replaced by the B-1 Lancer for strategic bombing (nuclear deterrent)
Vote today, vote everyday

4 sexy sexies. Clockwise from the propeller driven plane. P-51 Mustang, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Falcon, F-4 Phantom.
P-51 Mustang of the World War II fame, one of the best fighters we have.
F-15 Eagle is a big honkin' jet, it's nicknamed Starship because it is so big.
F-16 Falcon is a little slower but very agile.
F-4 Phantom was an air and ground attack aircraft during Vietnam that guzzled gas, it was retired after the gas shortage of 1976.
This pix is almost more sexy than naked photos of Jessica Alba
