Because his flames literally kill any creature, critter, NPC, or player in Deathwing's path, there are a few places we're not having him go for gameplay reasons. The large majority of the zones on the two continents are fair game though.

Kind of sucks he didn't die in the fire and shown the achievement.

Just watch after 4.0.3 launches with these changes. People are going to complain about being killed by him while leveling like a bat out of hell!!!! (yeah couldn't think of a good enough comparison with the wow QQ community)

I thought the same thing to. But I think he just cuts a straight path through the zone, and they wouldn't make it last for longer than 10-15 minutes for that very reason.

I believe this will be when 4.0.3 comes out some time in nov. right? With all the world changes?

Yes, and it will last until he is defeated. Not sure if this means someone gets the server first kill, or he is defeated Lore wise though.
