Looting Policy (DKP)

Our DKP system is based upon the EPGP (Effort Points/Gear Points ) system. For more information, please see "What is EPGP DKP?"

NOTE: All points mentioned are for 25-man raids.

NOTE2: It is the sole responsibility of EACH MEMBER for keeping track of their DKP. Any inquiries or discrepencies noted must be relayed to the Guild Leader or an Officer IMMEDIATELY before the next raid due to decay altering any chance of adjustments! The longer you wait the less likely there can be any changes made!

EARNING EFFORT POINTS

On Time Bonus -- 25 POINTS
To be eligible for the on-time bonus you must be at the raid zone and invited to the raid no later than TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE RAID.  In addition you must be PREPARED (full durability, aware of the boss encounters, etc.) You must also remain in the raid a minimum of two hours.

Time Award -- 15 POINTS PER HOUR

The primary method of earning effort points will be the amount of time you spend in a raid group or on the Waiting List.

Crusader Award -- 10 POINTS
A bonus of 10 points will be awarded to all members on time and in the raid group until the raid is called.

NOTE: Raiders who give advanced (prior to Final Roster being posted) noticed of a late (maximum 30 minutes) arrival are still eligible for this award.

In the event a raid is called early due to too many people leaving early, the people who had to leave early will be ineligible for the Crusader bonus.

Boss Attempts:
In addition to the On Time Bonus and Time Awards, 25 man zones will award the following EP:
  • New Boss Attempt (never killed by guild) -- 2 points per attempt
  • New Boss Kill -- 10 points
  • Non-Farm Boss Attempt (killed less than 5 times by guild) -- 1 point per attempt (10-man = 0 Points)
  • Non-Farm Boss Kill -- 5 points (10-man = 2 points)
  • Farm Boss Kill (killed 5+ times by guild) -- 2 points

GEAR POINT VALUES

The calculation of Gear Point values can be found on this page:  http://www.the-eternal-watch.com/custom.php?gid=11341&page_id=6613

ITEM ELIGIBILITY:

Any item for a character's primary spec is considered "primary" and permitted to be bid upon. For purposes of raiding:

Primary Items
An item is considered primary item if it directly relates to the spec of the person bidding for it. For example, tanks bidding on tanking items would be considered primary, tanks bidding on DPS items are considered secondary. Similarly hybrids bidding on items for alternate specs are considered secondary (e.g., an Enhancement shaman bidding on +spellpower gear) compared to the role they are attending during the raid.

Secondary Items
When an item is not desired as a primary, in order to prevent it being disenchanted due to people not wishing to "waste" points for alternate gear, it will be offered at a discounted rate of 50% GP to those who could use it for off-spec gear set. If more than one person wants the item, priority (PR) determines the winner.

For alternate spec's which are asked to attend a raid there is both an "Alternate Spec" bonus as well as points earned from the alternate are COPIED to the main as extra incentive. In addition, any gear won by the alternate spec is awarded at 50% the cost to compensate for the main not attending. See this thread for more detail...

ALTS versus MAINS:
Priority is given to main characters over alternate ones, even if the alternate's DKP is higher. The purpose of this is to equip main characters first and foremost.
There is ONE EXCEPTION to this rule. If an alternate is invited to the raid by the raid leader or guild officer to fill a needed position and an item is available for their main spec and a main character bids on the item as a secondary item (i.e., off-spec item) the alternate is treated as any character and whomever has higher priority wins.

Tie-breakers:
In the event of a tie with Priority (particularly due to rounding and such by the various programs we utilize), the person with the highest overall EP will be the winner. In the rare instance EP is also tied, the individuals will do a /random roll.

DECAY

Both EP and GP will decay at a rate of 10% per raid.

MINIMUM EP REQUIREMENTS:

Loot is awarded through a tiered system, with those who attend raids more frequently getting a higher opportunity at loot.  You must earned a minimum of 300 EP in order to receive loot priority. This basically computes to attending 20% of raids (e.g., attending 4 raids over a 2 week period). Although the guidelines are set, if there is a piece that is going to be Disenchanted due to nobody NEED'ing it and somebody else NEEDS and does not meet the requirements, the item will be awarded them...basically we are not going to DE something that can be used...ever.

MISCELLANEOUS

*Waiting List
Anyone not invited to the raid by 10 minutes before the scheduled time may choose to be placed on the Waiting List. For UNFARMED instances, those on the Waiting List earn FULL EP/hour as long as they remain online and available to come into the raid. For FARMED instances EP is earned at 50% the normal Hourly DKP. You may switch to an alternate character while on the waiting list as long as you inform an officer of the alt's name before switching.
You must be available to join the raid group within five minutes of being asked or your Waiting List EP for that night is forfeited.

Transferring Points
Points are technically awarded to the character, not the player in order to accommodate "main" characters; however, if the raid leader ask someone to play an alternate rather than their main due to the needs of the raid that player may choose which of the two characters they would like the points awarded.

Members with more than one raid-eligible character are permitted to transfer points from one character to another one time and one time only!

Bind on Equipped Items
If a BOE item drops and no one in the current raid group NEEDS it, priority for bidding will be given to players on the Waiting List. If no one on the Waiting List NEEDS the item, it will go to the guild bank for later distribution.  Items in the guild bank will still cost GP to those interested in them unless stated otherwise by the Guild Leader.

Loss of EP
Leaving the guild will result in the loss of ALL EP. If a member quits then asks and is permitted to rejoin, he will start at zero EP.  GP remains the same in order to prevent people from "wiping" their priority clean.

RAID CANCELLATION

In the event of a raid canceled due to insufficient numbers or whatever, everybody who has signed up prior to the final roster will receive 25 EP. This only applies to raids that are scheduled in advance.

"NO SHOWS"

Anybody who is a no-show to a raid after having signed up and on the final roster is subject to a -25 EP penalty. If you have a legitimate excuse please let an officer or raid leader know in order to waive the penalty. We're not out to be jerks, so if you have connection issues, traffic, working late, etc. just let us know...no reasonable excuse will be denied. We're all adults here, if you make a commitment to attend a raid, you're expected to show up but we do realize real life sometimes intervenes.
